Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MapMyRange mobile app and website (the “Service”). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. License grant

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial golf and range-management purposes. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data from the Service, or access it through any automated means not provided by us.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or tamper with range sensors, hardware, or the integrity of the Service.
  • Use the Service to violate any law, infringe anyone’s rights, or for any commercial purpose without our written permission.

4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Authentication is provided through our identity provider, Clerk. You may delete your account at any time, as described on our Delete Your Account page.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that distance measurements or shot data are accurate, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use the Service at your own risk.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAPMYRANGE AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $50.

7. Binding arbitration and class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully — it affects how disputes are resolved.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. The arbitration will be administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider and will take place in the State of California, whose laws govern these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Class-action waiver. You and MapMyRange agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — will survive.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
